Seward Employee Benefits Summary Limited part time: An employee who works less than 15 hours on a regular basis. Temporary worker: An employee who's employment has an end date. On-call: An employee with no regular shifts. Part-time: An employee scheduled to work 15-29 hours on a regular basis. Full-time: An employee scheduled to work full-time hours, 30+ hours per week, on a regular basis. PTO-TimePaid Time Off is accrued based on hours worked for hourly Part and Full time employees. PTO is not granted during the first three months of employment. Upon termination, after at least 1,000 hours of employment, any unused PTO will be paid to the employee as severance pay. Discount Staff members receive a discount on their purchases at the co-op, with the exception of a few designated low margin items. Any employee who works over 15 hours receives their discount anytime they shop. Temp/ limited and on-call employees only receive their discount on the days they work. Employees get a 15% discount on their purchases. To make Wellness items more affordable to our employees, there is a 25% employee discount on these items. Membership/ Gain Sharing After 1,000 hours of employment at Seward employees are given a gift membership at the coop and enrolled in Sewards gain sharing. If you are already a member, you will be reimbursed the cost of membership, less the administration fee. Retirement Plan Seward offers a 401K Retirement plan. You are eligible to contribute when you have reached your 1,000 hours. You can choose to contribute a higher percentage of your salary and Seward will match up to 3%. Livable wage After 2,000 hours, Full time employees will be eligible for that years livable wage amount. Community Service Hours Seward Co-op gives all staff Community Service hours. The hours accrue based on hours worked. No more than 30 hours can accrue and be used in one year. Get H.I.P program Is an employee Health Initiative Program for Seward Staff. The program was designed to reward staff for being active. Accumulated points can be used to purchase gift certificates or prizes from the prize list. Bicycle Commuting Reimbursement Policy The Bicycle Transit Fringe Benefit is set up to offset some of the costs of biking for transit to work. This benefit reimburses you for a maximum of $20.00 each month ($240/year) for expenses incurred by commuting by bicycle. Expenses eligible for reimbursement include the purchase, repairs, equipment and storage of a commuter bicycle. There is no reimbursement for simply commuting by bicycle. You must have expenses related to biking to be eligible. Employee Giving All Seward Co-op employees are eligible to contribute to local non-profits, Community Shares of Minnesota or MN Environmental Fund, at a 50% match from the Co-op. PTO Donation Pool (for employees with at least part time status) Employees may contribute their available PTO to pool for use by staff in need. Flexible-Spending Plan Seward offers a Flexible Spending Plan to all employees who work 15 hours or more. Part of your cafeteria plan monies and/or a portion of your pre-tax income can be contributed to this account. Supplemental Life Insurance Seward offers supplemental life to employee who work 15 hours or more and it maybe pre or post tax. Accident Insurance Seward offers accident insurance as a pre or post tax deduction to anyone who works 15 hours or more. Short-Term Disability InsuranceSeward Coop offers short-term disability insurance as a pre or post tax deduction for anyone who works 15 hours or more. Medical Benefits (full-time only) Seward Co-op offers medical insurance. Full-time employees can choose a high-deductible plan with optional Health Savings Account, or a traditional plan. Dental Insurance (full time only) Seward Coop offers dental insurance. The basic version of the dental plan is employer paid with the ability to ‘buy up' in the plan for more options. Life Insurance (full time only) Seward Coop offers a $10,000 life insurance policy to all full-time employees as a core benefit (paid for by the Co-op). Long-Term Disability Insurance (full time only) Seward Coop offers long-term disability insurance to all full-time employees as a core benefit (paid for by the co-op). |
